The Four Letter Word that Could Land You in Jail

Kathryn “Kristi” Fridge was surprised when a firefighter scolded her in Wal-Mart in La Marque, Texas for using a variation of the four-letter F-word; however, she was astonished when Capt. Alfred Decker, the town’s assistant fire marshal, put her in handcuffs. Although Fridge was released with a ticket for disorderly conduct, the question stands as to whether her comment to her mother in a store was a breach of the peace.

While Fridge does not plain on filing a personal injury lawsuit, she is in the process of consulting a lawyer before deciding about whether to file a formal complaint.

La Marque Fire Chief Todd Zacherl believes that Decker was upholding the law and supports Decker’s actions. Yet others believed he created more of a scene at Wal-Mart. Although people are debating whether an arrest should have been made, the bigger issue at hand is figuring out whether Fridge broke the law.
