Man Allegedly Uses MySpace To Target Underage Victims
A 20 year old Oregon man has been arrested for what prosecutors describe as an “assortment of crimes” against at least 2 girls between the ages of 15 and 17.
The unemployed man, Kyle James Green, allegedly targeted young girls who he had met on MySpace and other places for specific crimes.
More girls who are believed to have been victimized by Green have come forward and more criminal charges are expected.
Green was arrested and held at Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office jail on charges of rape 3, sodomy 3, sexual abuse 1, sexual abuse 3 and contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor. Bail was set at $250,000.
In Oregon, the charge of “rape 3″ does not indicate a forcible sex. The state refers to any sex act between a minor and adult as rape. The age of consent in Oregon is 18, meaning no person under the age of 18 can provide legal consent for sexual activity. In some other states the age is 16 or younger.
Also the crime of “sodomy”, while generally considered to be anal sex in most places, has a different legal meaning in Oregon. Under Oregon law “sodomy” may refer to any sexual contact that is not intercourse, including oral sex.
